Quick Side Shot Entry Syntax

Updated May 20, 2016

This article applies to:
  • Terrain Forestry
  • RoadEng Forestry

If you would rather enter side shots (station/offset cross sections) directly in the SSL and SSR fields you must learn the syntax. The most common format (depends on Entry Mode options) is shown in the example below:

25/5,65/8 T,55/..

This means: starting at center line, go at +25% for 5m; start again at center line go at +65% for 8m and make a new TP (T); from this TP go at +55% forever (see on-line help SSL/SSR section). The problem with this syntax is that the "T" and "," characters are not near the number pad on your keyboard; the following syntax will be interpreted the same way ("/" instead of "," and "*" instead of "T"):

25/5/65/8*/55
